Goodness, what a night…

Nearly 5pm, September 10th, 2009

Fidel de la Puente elucidates Consul General Carlos González Gutiérrez on the particulars of his work.

Wow. After months of preparation; more caveats, small disasters (and miracles) than one could count; and, the inevitable last days, hours, minutes & seconds drama of preparing for an opening, friends and family joined us in joyous celebration of what promises to be a truly memorable exhibition.

In the company of so many distinguished guests - Collector Larry Hoover and his daughter and beautiful grandson, the Consul General of Mexico, our dear friends from the Sacramento Metropolitan Arts Commission, our Board of Directors and countless others - we danced and drank the night away in fine style.

Thanks to the folks at Ramiro Sound, we had 12 young (and young at heart) guitarists serenade us throughout the evening.

Director Marie Acosta (above) and Collector Larry Hoover (below) take their public bows, much deserved.

Smiles and enjoyment to be had for art-lovers of all ages!

As you can see, it was quite a party, even late into the night!

but, as with all good things, it is possible to have a too much, and some of us were left contemplating our mortality in the morning.

We’ll be doing it all over again - and bigger! - for September Second Saturday as well as for our FREE PUBLIC GRAND OPENING on September 15th (in day-early-conjunction with Mexican Independence Day). Hope to see you all here!

ps: A special thanks to Kevin at Do An Event, without whom last night would not have happened.
