On the 15th, in (day-early) celebration of Mexican Independence Day, we opened our cornerstone exhibit of the year - Sacred & Shared: The Larry Hoover Collection of Mexican Ritual Masks - with a party to end all fiestas in the StateNet parking lot behind us. Our overwhelming thanks goes out to Raices de mi Tierra, Los Cojolites, Rowdy Kate, Master Mask Maker Fidel de La Puente (and his lovely wife Anne Johnson), our friends at Home Depot and everyone who came out and made the night what it was! You are all wonderful and we cannot wait to have you back.
Because a picture’s worth a thousand words, here’s a story equivalent to our national debt…
and we all danced the night away…
if you missed it, check out our events calendar to see when the next time we’ll be gettin’ on down is. Thanks again to everyone who made all this possible, especially you!
