Just wanted to give a huge thanks - and rub it in the noses of you all who missed it - to Martha Ramirez-Oropeza for her wonderful lecture on The Octopec Mestizo Tradition: La Novenaria, Nine Days of Fireworks and Rosaries. We had a packed house and everyone was so enraptured by her talk that we didn’t stop ’till 9pm! After Martha’s rousing presentation, we were all in the mood to continue with our Dia de los Muertos preparations, so everyone came by at 10am on Sunday for our first sugar skull making workshop. We filled up the room, but if you missed out, don’t fret! There’s still time to make your reservations for this Saturday’s mask making workshop with Amar Azucena Cid and the second sugar skull workshop, which will be this Sunday.
