Thank You, Amar Azucena!

and thank you Armando.

and thank you Armando.

With the support of her dear mother, Amar Azucena Cid led two wonderful mask making workshops for us on the 24th and 31st of October, in the run up to Day of the Dead/Dia de los Muertos. On top of it being a lot of fun for everyone involved, it was a great way to remember her father, phenomenal artist and Royal Chicano Air Force member Armando Cid, who passed on this year. In his honor, children of all ages joined us in the warm fall morning light to mold papier maché to their faces. If you missed out, and would like to attend upcoming arts workshops, please sign up for our email list (at the bottom of the page) and keep your eyes peeled for a lino-cut print making workshop coming in December!

Thanks again Amar Azucena, and don’t forget to come pick up your check!
