With all the love we give to painters, illustrators and photographers, one would be forgiven for thinking we’d somehow forgot about our peers with poised pens. But fret not! Thanks to the patient insistence of our good friend R.S. Marquez - and the collaboration of many other like-minded folks - we’re proud to present AN EVENING OF POETRY featuring the work of Rachel Leibrock and Frank Andrick on the 16th of April.

Rather than parse their words, I’ll let our two featured poets introduce themselves.

Says Rachel: “The basics: Married, two cats. Vegetarian. Native Texan. Loves rock ‘n’ roll. At age 12, cut my hair to look like Pat Benatar. First concert: Adam & the Ants. I sing in my car. Loudly. Never in the shower. I drink a lot of black coffee. On my desk: Two iPods, one CD player, a TV, stacks of books, CDs, magazines and toys. Areas of coverage: entertainment, pop culture and local happenings. Motto: Funny the difference a day makes.”

and Frank? “i am a published poet/writer/publisher/event producer/radio program anchor host/storyteller/photgrapher and creative conversation indulger. i live in Sacramento, do radio in San Francisco. my favorite place in the world is PARIS. Friends and ART, literary and visual and sound Arts make my world. i pursue a relentless, inspiring, and transcendent beauty in all things.to find beauty everywhere”

The evening will feature readings by various other poets - as well as some open mic time, so get your verses ready - and a musical interlude by the esteemed Esteban Villa, RCAF Member and general bon vivant. The doors open at 7pm, we’ll run till 9pm and we’ll gladly accept your donations.
